God Bless America

Posted by PicasaI forgot to post this for the 4th of July.

This is Dean and Alisha ready for---I think--- a bicentennial parade. They were pretty excited.
Can you name the year?

Church work

View into the church kitchen

We went to a neighborhood church

so Sue could borrow their piano to practice some music

I sat in their community hall

(kind of like a cultural hall)

at a table and played on paper while Sue played the piano keys

in a nook to the side of the big room

Worked on a postcard for a friend

who is recovering

from having cancer removed from one of her lungs

This scripture is important to me

It has carried me through some tough times of my own
I wanted to share it with my friend who is full of faith

She has told me she is in the Savior's care

and will accept whatever He has in store for her

I admire and love her

At the post office, I realized I hadn't put any color on the flower pot

Hmm-m-m-m

I pulled out my lipstick....did some color tapping with my finger

Presto . . . .It's in the mail!

Pen to Paper

I chuckled as I took the picture above

I thought about the website I found when I was researching a trip to Europe some years ago

People would take a picture of their airline meal and post it on that site

along with the airline and flight number

You could look up your flight and see what you would be served.

Well, I guess the airlines are tightening their belts, because there are a lot of pretzels served these days------or cookies, apparently

It became my first sketch subject

I have a huge log I can sit on to watch and listen to waves crash

One of those washed up logs is an unusual bendy hunk of tree

The neighbor's passel of buoys were inspiration for one sketch

Some lines, some curves . . . . . all in a day's happen'n

Played with some color......made it pop by outlining in black

and creating some zentangl-ish borders

Heavy Metal

So, when you

choose to decorate yourself

and choose to fly

how much do you need to remove

to make it through the airport scanner?

I thought taking off the necklace and bracelet would be sufficient

Oh contrare . . .

I beeped

Off with the earrings, knave!

(but they DO look small, compared to the rest!)

That worked

Nurture List #5

OO-eee

It's time

I'm off to do Nurture #5

after a very short night's sleep

Yea!

Capture the Curl

Levi got to come to a "late over" but didn't get to stay for the sleepover. He is a happy busy boy, almost ready to take off as a walker. In the meantime, he can get to where he wants in some kind of hurry.

He has a cute curl of hair grown long behind one ear. I tried to get a picture of it.

Nope. Not that side.

I get a grip on him between my legs.....still the wrong side. That didn't work.

Uh oh, I must have let loose. There he goes, lickety split across the floor.

There, I got it. His wisp of curl.

His momma says, if he was a girl, she'd have it in a pig tail by now.
